As experts in Diabetes, we provide care for the full range of diabetes disorders including Type 1, Latent Autoimmune Diabetes (LADA), Maturity Onset Diabetes in the Young (MODY), Type 2, Gestational Diabetes, Steroid induced Diabetes.
Autoimmune Diabetes
Both Type 1 Diabetes and LADA are autoimmune forms of diabetes. In these disorders patients lose insulin production and require treatment with insulin to maintain normal blood sugars. There are many treatment options available including multiple daily injections, insulin pump therapy, continuous glucose monitoring.
Our providers and staff are versed in these protocols as well as the most advanced treatment option, the Medtronic 670G the world’s first hybrid closed loop system. This form of pump therapy provides automated insulin delivery in response to real time continuous glucose numbers, thereby virtually eliminating hypoglycemia while improving blood sugar control.
Type 2 Diabetes
The most common form of diabetes, it usually results from a combination of genetic predisposition and increased weight causing insulin resistance. There are many medication options available, but the focus of our treatment is to help patients to lose weight and improve lifestyle factors thereby enabling them to improve control and potentially eliminate medication. If medications are necessary to gain control, we work with our patients to determine the most cost effective and tolerated option.
